Samaritan Program

The Heart of our Mission

The Samaritan Program of Virginia United Methodist Homes, Inc. (VUMH) is a benevolent fund which provides financial assistance to residents who have outlived their monetary resources and, through no fault of their own, can no longer afford the full cost of their care.

Benevolent assistance has been given in VUMH communities since 1948. In Fiscal Year 2015, the Samaritan Program provided $949,272 in benevolent assistance to residents.

To learn more about our benevolent care mission, please read our report on the FY 2015 Samaritan Program.

All gifts are recognized through our Giving Fellowships.
