- Who We Are
The Samaritan Program of Virginia United Methodist Homes, Inc. (VUMH) is a benevolent fund which provides financial assistance to residents who have outlived their monetary resources and, through no fault of their own, can no longer afford the full cost of their care.
Benevolent assistance has been given in VUMH communities since 1948. In Fiscal Year 2015, the Samaritan Program provided $949,272 in benevolent assistance to residents.
Through the support of the Virginia Annual Conference, our offering is in the United Methodist churches annually from Mother's Day through Father's Day.
Estate gifts, gifts from businesses, foundations, organizations and individuals are accepted continuously throughout the year.
You may choose to contribute to capital projects at our family of communities or underwrite special programs dedicated to improve the quality of life for our residents.
Your gift may be made to honor or memorialize a friend or loved one and no gift is too small. Every gift is deeply appreciated and sure to have a direct benefit to residents of our communities. Please contact the Communications and Engagement Coordinator by phone at (804)474-8713 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
